Expand your horizons and meet energetic people with a common interest. Once you complete docent training, you will share your knowledge with visitors from all over the world!

Holiday Opportunities:  Christmas on the Brazos: event in December each year. Ticket table, concessions, runners, set-up, clean up, booths, children’s area, and many more areas to help with!  If you are in 8th-12th grade, see our belles and beaus program below!

Office Help: Assist with mail outs and delivery of event flyers

Outdoor Help: Help in planting, upkeep of the grounds, help with other maintenance and landscaping as needed.

Youth and Student Opportunities

HWF Belles and Beaus

This is a year long program when students can get involved with HWF and help with events throughout the year, such as game days, Skadoos, summer camp, the annual antique fairs and rummage sales, and holiday festivities.   The larger part of a belle or beau’s involvement is during Christmas on the Brazos.  Students may wear period appropriate clothing (1870-1900), “belle” gowns, or Sunday attire while in the houses.  The students will be presented to the community during the Christmas Parade, give tours to visitors, and assist Santa while children tell him their wishes.  With so many opportunities to participate, each student is able to get as many volunteer hours as they desire.
