Welcome to Historic Waco Foundation

Historic Waco Foundation is a non-profit organization 501 (c)(3). The mission of Historic Waco Foundation is to collect, maintain, preserve, publish and interpret the heritage and history of Waco, McLennan County and Texas. HWF owns and operates four historic house museums: Earle-Napier-Kinnard House, Fort House, East Terrace, and the McCulloch House. These house museums date from 1858 to 1884. The Foundation offices are located in the Hoffman House

In addition to maintaining the four historic house museums, Historic Waco Foundation also produces the following

Educational opportunities for all ages: Sunday Skadoos, Summer Camp, Annual Lectures
Bi-Annual Publication: “Waco Heritage and History”
Christmas on the Brazos
Special exhibits such as “Time of Turmoil: Texas and the Civil War” and “Waco at Bat: The History of Baseball in Waco.”

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Coming Soon! Traveling Trunks - HWF has received a grant from the Texas Historical Foundation that will help us develop Traveling Trunks for local schools. These trunks will provide educators with lesson plans, activities, PowerPoints, primary sources, pictures, and hands on objects that adhere to the TEKS AND make local history fun! The trunks will be available to teachers starting Fall of 2013.

Weekday tour schedule is as follows:

Tuesday – Friday, 11 am to 3pm

at the following houses during the year:

January – March at McCulloch House Museum
April – June at Fort House Museum
July – September at East Terrace House Museum
October – December at Earle-Napier-Kinnard House Museum

Weekend tour schedule is as follows:

Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 5 pm

at the following houses during the year:

January through June:
Saturdays – Earle-Napier-Kinnard and Fort House Museums
Sundays – East Terrace and McCulloch House Museums
July through December:
Saturdays – East Terrace and McCulloch House Museums
Sundays – Earle-Napier-Kinnard and Fort House Museums

Tours may also be scheduled by special appointment. Please call the HWF Office for details.

Our office and houses may be closed for certain holidays. Please check our Calendar of events page to make sure we are open for tours.

Seniors (50+): $2.50
Students (any age):$2
Children under 6: Free Admission
Military (with ID, includes immediate family): Free Admission
