A Busy spring planned for Historic Waco

Historic Waco has a number of events planned for the spring. Take a look below and mark your calendar.

Friday, Feb 1 - McCulloch House open for First Fridays, Pokey O food truck out in front and free admission to house

Sunday, Feb 11 - Hearts, Lace, and Victorian Valentine Skadoo

                             1-4 p.m. McCulloch House

                             1:00-4:00 pm, $10.00 per family

Saturday, March 3 - Texas Independence Day Celebration

                                 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. East Terrace

                                 Entertainment (Lone Star Stout), food, activities, games, storyteller's guild, tour of house, 

                                  book sale.  $10.00 per family

Lavonia Jenkins Barnes Decorative Arts Course to Begin Feb. 6

Would you like to know more about the decorative arts? Then make plans to attend the Barnes Decorative Arts Course. During the spring, faculty from Baylor University will give lectures about various aspects of the topic. All the lectures will run from 6-8 p.m. and will be held in the Education Center at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Musuem. The course also will include house tours of Historic Waco's four house museums and a trip to Bayou Bend in Houston. Tickets are $75 to attend all seven classes, $50 for the Bayou Bend trip and $15 per class.

"A Fashionable Past" To Run through March 31

From corsets and large hats of the Edwardian era to sequins and short dresses of Flappers, this new exhibit from Historic Waco Foundation looks at women's fashion from 1880 through the 1940's. All items on display are part of HWF's Heritage Collection. Regular exhibit hours are 11-3 pm Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday 1-4 pm. The exhibit is included in Fort House admission.
